Welcome to The Sunday Morning Snuggle
A little piece of joy for your inbox, in amongst all the to-do’s 🌿
Hey friend,
Welcome to the Sunday Morning Snuggle.

Snug·gle
VERB
To move yourself into a warm and comfortable position, especially one in which your body is against another person or covered by something.
The internet makes me tired at the moment. I miss getting a paper magazine and snuggling back into bed to savour each and every word.
I am writing this for you, my friend, the tired and overwhelmed woman in Perth’s south-east. I want you to feel seen and encouraged, and it is too hard to trawl endlessly online for something beautiful. All my favourite publications, Coffee + Crumbs, Ashlee Gadd, Katie Blackburn, Hannah Brencher, Risen Motherhood, women writing about faith and motherhood, or fun women’s lifestyle websites like Cup of Jo, are American. I want something especially for us. Not Australian content that forgets the most isolated city in the world, or articles that focus on the city and Freo, but forget the southern suburbs. It’s for us.

What do you get when you subscribe to The Snuggle?
A deep dive essay on the first Sunday each month, musing about motherhood, faith, mental health, books, food, and neuroscience.
Curated links to poetry, short stories, a recipe to try, quotes, book reviews, podcast recommendations, and cartoon or two. Whatever takes my fancy that month.
An interview with a local woman who encourages me.
I want this to be little piece of joy in amongst all the to-dos in your inbox. A quiet moment to savour in amongst a life that seems to be getting louder and shoutier by the day. Just snuggle back in bed with your coffee.

About me…
I became a Christian when I was 18 years old. Someone read the Gospel of Luke with me over two years. At the end of it I thought, “this is true, I think I’m a Christian!”
I’m married to Zac, and we have two boys, Henry (4) and George (2). I’m a Clinical Psychologist Registrar. I spend my days counselling, teaching women the Bible, coordinating the GBC playgroup, writing, and espousing the value of shoes to my children. I love reading, cooking, swimming, yoga, and the excitement of a new scheme. My spiritual gift is losing things.
I am terrified of doing it all wrong, but God is quietly insisting to my heart that he made me to love words. That I am not serving him by burying the one talent he gave me in the ground because I am scared (Matthew 25:14-30). This is me trying to be faithful to who He made me to be and trusting that He can use it for good.
