Bec, this story is upsetting and heartbreaking and beautifully told. I’m so glad you shared it here. Thanks for taking the time to put it into words. It’s truthfully haunting.
Thank you for sharing this. It's hard to even know what response is appropriate for such a heartrending and well-written story... It goes hand in hand with a memoir I just read called "The Many Lives of Mama Love" by Laura Love Hardin. I would highly recommend.
Wow bec, I was engrossed the entire time in this true narrative you wrote. I hope it was healing to write it--such a terribly difficult situation. Thank-you for wrestling with these words and for sharing ❤️
Thanks Sara! The saddest thing about it is the fact it sticks out for me is because it was my first day as duty officer and I wrote notes about it in my journal. But it’s a pretty common interaction for child protection/corrections role and definitely not unusual.
This is heartbreaking and beautifully captured. Thank you for sharing such vulnerability.
Thanks Alyssa! 💛
So sad to read stories like this but beautifully written... They're just so stuck, these women, aren't they?
Thanks Kym. Yeah, you can see how people really do get stuck, and how hard it is to get out.
Wow! This is heart-wrenching but so well written. Thank you for sharing this glimpse of your work and heart.
Thanks so much Joy!
