This was a wonderful read . I just started writing about female friendships last week as my 5yr old has started navigating her own at school it brings back memories of how it all starts. Thanks for this series. I look forward to reading the next one . Enjoy those baby snuggles

So happy for your new arrival, Bec!! Welcome to the world, Thomas!!

I loved this essay, too. I can definitely relate—friendships these days are a challenge to navigate, and military moves make it all so much harder.

Congratulations!!!💜 such a funny time to stumble on your essay as I’m a new mom and exploring friendship with other moms has been exciting and has felt like it takes more work and planning than it used to. I loved reading this :)

What a beautiful essay. Some friendships happen like a spark and some take work... It's so true! I've got some life long friends from my childhood that have stuck by me forever and others that started because we are mothers in the same church. It took a while to reach the level of intimacy im used to with my childhood friends. But they are also so good for me and encouraging 💛 friends are so important!

Ahhhh Lorren!!! I loved this essay. My gosh, this is how I feel in almost every social situation with other women.

If only we were neighbors so we could be best friends! Your line about the book habit, I can totally relate!
