Loved your grudge poem, it almost felt like an Australian psalm because of your reference to Australian trees. All those plants metaphors... So so good. Really loving your poems Bec!

I've recently read two Katrina Nannestad books (we are wolves and rabbit, soldier, angel, thief). They're for children but they are amazingly beautiful ✨ highly recommend even for reading for yourself!

I accidentally smushed a bee when I rolled up the window in car lane and it refused to fly away. Your story was much lovelier.

Love this line: "Google doesn’t know what it means for a mother

to see her daughter’s resurrected name

soaring on a silken wing,

a rare moth in the moonlight."

I'm currently reading "Comfort Me With Apples" by Ruth Reichl and it's good! So far, none of her other books compare to "Save Me the Plums", but this one might be a close second!
