Ok this made me chuckle: “Sometimes I have to stop writing so I don’t burn dinner. Surely this can’t be my whole method?” All the mother writers know 😅😅
I adore that your kitchen is a bistro and that you're cooking real food.
I am pleased to inform you that winter solstice has been and gone. The longer days are on their way!
And this is a season. It's called the "I'm building a house on a farm nowhere near where I currently live and I have toddlers" season. It will pass. It won't always be like this. In the meantime, keep reading, especially fiction.
UGH I HEAR YOU on so many of these! and you know I think this already but you should definitely keep the dream of a poetry collection alive! And how can anyone *not* be friends with you?! 😉💛
Hahahah awww thanks Kym for having my back!! Also I just saw that Origin Collective have released day only tickets but now I’m away the first week of the holidays as my husband is building us a shed 😆😆
That last one has been another version of my reason I couldn’t write anything besides my journal entries for a couple months. “I’m stressed. I’m so so stressed.” Now it’s another version of what you’ve written here. Moving is not for the faint hearted. Hopefully we both can write something we’re happier with soon! I keep thinking of something I heard David Sedaris say, to read things that make you think, “I could do that!” I go back to certain favorites that get my writing wheels start moving again.
Ahhhh Bec!! Because the toddler is suddenly quiet is my favorite reason you listed. Toddlers do grow up and houses-in-progress become strong, sturdy homes. You will make it through this season. :-)
Awww thanks Sledge! I think because my middle is nearly 6 you just get out of the habit so I legit just forgot the chaos of two years old. But he’s also super delightful at this age and I know now how quick it goes 🤷🏼♀️
I love this so much. In not being able to write…you’re writing 🤍🙏🏻.
It’s all about tricking the brain into words 😆🙈

Hahahaha glad I’m not alone in this 😂
I love this too! Suddenly all inspiration has left me, and I'm distracted by so many busy things in life. At least you're writing about it!
Hahaha glad I’m not the only one! It is a helpful prompt 💛
This is fantastic, Bec. Loved reading it, thanks for sharing your beautiful musings 🥰.
Awww thank you Bethany 💛💛💛
I love this. This treatise is a delight.

Awww thank you so much for all of this Meredith!! Trying very hard to lean into my season and not run ahead to future problems 😆

Can you please write a poetry collection?! Love this Bec x
Nawww thanks for the vote of confidence Ames, and being my first buyer as always!!
Oh my goodness. This is incredible! So so relatable. And I think this, in fact, is very good writing indeed 😉
Hahahahah thank you!

I love this. This is writing. You are not alone. AND the poetry collection in your dreams is going to be amazing when you make it!
Thank you for the solidarity (and believing in the collection dream mua ha ha) 💛💛💛
